Any Student with having master's degree is eligible for the CSS exam. There are multiple subjects to have a master's degree in to be eligible for the css exam in Pakistan.

CSS exam stands for Central Superior Services that is responsible for hiring the best candidates for Bureaucracy.
How to apply for CSS exam?
Every year from 1st of September to October 31 candidates CSS admissions are opened. After paying the challan fee of RS 2200 the candidates can apply online through the official FPSC website. After applying online candidates are also required to send the hard copy of their application to the address of the FPSC commission.

There is no fixed salary for the CSS officers. They also get the basic 17th scale salary which is around about 30000- 35000. However, a CSS officer receives a lot of other benefits such as house facility, vehicle allowance, medical allowance, etc.
Is CSS exam difficult?
CSS exam is Pakistan's most superior exam. Therefore, it is a difficult exam for those candidates with poor English and academic background. Moreover, around 25000 to 30000 candidates apply for this exam every year. Hence it also offers strong competition. Therefore, it is a bit difficult for exam that need smart work to qualify the written part.
What are the subjects of CSS?
There are two categories of css subjects. Compulsory and optional subjects. There is a total of 6 compulsory subjects which every candidate has to take. And there are more than 45 optional subjects in 7 different groups which can be increased or decreased by the commission authorities.
Which degree is best for CSS?
According to the css experts masters degree in English, Political science, International relations, and social science are the best degrees for css exam. Because these subjects are more focused on society and css major part is also about society.
For exam current affairs, politics, economics, etc. These degrees relate to many compulsory and optional css subjects. Therefore, these degrees increase the chances of qualifying for the css exam.
Talking about an English degree it is far better for a css exam. The reason behind this is that css exam cannot be qualified if your English skills are not the best.
The failure ratio in CSS exam is highest in English Essay paper and English Grammar. So, a candidate with having master's degree in English has good English skills as compared to another candidate. However, it is not so that other degrees are not important for qualifying css.
What percentage is required for CSS?
To pass the CSS exam overall 50 percent marks are required. It means out of a total of 1500 marks for css a candidate needs 600 marks to pass CSS exam.
But in case of css compulsory subjects 40 % marks are required to pass any compulsory subject. And in case of css optional subjects 33 % marks are required to pass the optional subject.
Taking about the interview which contains a total of 300 marks the candidate requires to secure at least 100 marks.
Why is CSS so hard?
CSS exam is so hard because a candidate is required to go through the study of multiple books and subjects. There are many subjects, which a css aspirant studies for the first time in his life.
Therefore, It is not easy for a human to understand these subjects easily. It requires hard work for months. Another reason is the three different stages of CSS.

How long does it take for CSS result?
Every year css exam is taken during the month of February. It takes almost 7-8 months for css results of the written part.
What is the syllabus of CSS?

Which subject is best for CSS?
Every subject is best for css if you have the background knowledge related to that subject. But it has been observed that general knowledge subjects and political science or international relations are the best subjects for the css.
Because these subjects overcome many compulsory and optional subjects. By selecting these subjects you can save your most important time during CSS preparation.
Is Urdu compulsory for CSS?
No, Urdu is not compulsory for css exam. Urdu is an optional subject in group 5 named Urdu literature. It is a 100 marks optional subject. Urdu literature syllabus outline can be seen here.
Can we do CSS after FSC?
Not we cannot appear in CSS exam after FSC. Because the minimum qualification required to appear in css exam is a master degree or equivalent 16 years of graduation.
Is CSS better than MBBS?
According to a survey conducted by me in Islamia University Bahawalpur and BZU Multan css is better than MBBS. In this survey, more than 6000 students were asked the same question is CSS better than MBBS? 85 % of students said yes css is better than MBBS.
However, it depends on someone’s psychology. Both these plans have their own pros and cons.
